A concept that took me a great deal of time to get I learned at a forum on racism. In an oversimplified form it basically says that it doesn't matter what the intent was, if the recipient takes it as racism, then it is wrong. I did much soul searching to come to realize that this means it is incumbent on me to want to understand others pain. It meant that if I truly want to continue to evolve as a decent human being, then no matter what I meant I owe the apology for hurt caused by my words and actions.

I think that something along those lines is what Wes is referring to.

Please let us get back to the discussion thread was started for. It is about what we need to do to right our ship and start our way back to the proper course.
