Thread Name: Mother's Day Songs
Subject: RE: Mother's Day Songs
Add the old chestnut, "Tramp On The Street", popularized by Hank W.(tho' he didn't write it). Chorus:
"He was some mother's darlin'; he was some mother's son.
Once he was fair and once he was young.
Some mother rocked him, her little darlin', to sleep--
But they left him to die like
A Tramp On The Street!!"

The last verse is about Jesus, and the chorus is:
"He was Mary's own darlin'; He was God's chosen Son.
Once He was fair and once He was young.
Mary, she rocked Him, her little darlin', to sleep,
But they took Him to die like
A Tramp On The Street."

These bits are from memory, not necessarily letter-perfect. Good song..............Tw
