Thread Name: York Day of Folk
Subject: RE: York Day of Folk
ok nick, the reason for the sing around not being on during the day is that for the last two years we (2BS&S) have done it all day and all night and wrecked our voices, no one actually pledged support to help and it was felt an evening session might be better. The other consideration is that the Marquee was well over subscribed and the over flow was to be accomodated in the ground floor front room, a sort of second Marquee indoors! Dan Webster was in last friday and a bit upset about not getting a slot in the Marquee having been given a spot in the overflow "Marquee", gives you some idea of the quality this year. I think if enough people had come forward at the meetings it might have been accommodated but at least this way I only get to sing for three and half hours instead of seven! We look forward to seeing you there, we haven't forgotten you we just haven't had the time to get out to see you. Apologies to anyone else who would have liked a sing around in the afternoon, however, we are on at 4.30 pm and we are going to cut out the banter to get eight songs in, all but one will be chorus songs which we expect people to join in with, I think you will have heard them at some time either on the cd or at the tap.
cheers
Peter
