I'm surprised no-one has furnished this info. to date . .Tony is one of many UK artists whose recordings (on Leader/Trailer) fell into the hands of a UK company called Celtic Music, under the "capable" ownership of one Dave Bulmer. Who has repeatedly refused requests to re-issue on CD. The most immoral instance of this has been in regard to Nic Jones; I think I posted part of that saga (the Bandoggs recording) on a Nic Jones thread here quite recently.
Some more recent CM signings were stuffed by the company failing to promote the recordings they'd made for them; a number of these were under fixed-length contracts to CM which prevented them from recording elsewhere. In effect, this led to a gap of several years in releases from these artists; some "combos" hit by this effect had split up before their CM contracts expired.
So at one and the same time CM managed to render a large and important part of the development of today's UK folk music totally out of the reach of those coming to the music for the first time (the Leader/Trailer catalogue) and restrict the recording opportunities of some very significant newer performers within the genre.
Tony Rose's recent CD recording is (largely??) a re-work of some of his material which is lost in the vaults of CM. (BTW Tony was also a member of Bandoggs. And was in very fine voice when we heard him at Sidmouth last year.)
