Charlotte and Asheville in North Carolina are both about an hour to an hour and a half away from where you'll be. Charlotte has the Charlotte Folk Society, and I'm sure there's a lot going on in Asheville.

JtS said he was driving through a small town near Greenville this past week and saw a poster for some kind of old timey music event in that town, but he doesn't remember the name of the town. You'll probably find a lot going on in that area if you ask around when you get there.
