They are a large international bank and fully capable of dealing in yen, yuen, rubles, dollars of all sorts, ruppees, pounds, punts, marks, angels, groats, farthings, bullion, and even swapping pigs and wool. People who go incommunicado for a week or so are probably taken by Men In Black from the Bank of Scotland to a remote, desolate, secret location (possibly the Isle of Uffa) and reprogrammed into automatomistic capitalist consumers and wearers of kilts.
