Thread Name: Origins: City Four Square / No Night There
Subject: ADD City Foursquare
I'm supposed to sing an old gospel song, city Foursquare, at a funeral on Sunday 12/14. I've heard the song a couple of times, but I don't really know it and I haven't been able to find the music. Can anybody post or e-mail the tune for me? thanks.

Here are the lyrics:

CITY FOURSQUARE
(John R. Clements and H.P. Danks)

In the land of fadeless day
Lies a city foursquare.
It shall never fade away
For there is no night there.

Chorus
There is no death, no pain, no fears.
God will wipe away all tears
And they count not time by years
For there is no night there.

There the gates of pearl made
In the city foursquare.
And the streets in gold are laid
For there is no night there.

There the gates are never closed
In the city foursquare.
There God’s crystal fountain flows
For there is no night there.

There they need no sunshine bright
In the city foursquare.
For the lamb is all the light
For there is no night there.
