I went to a Joan Baez concert a couple of years ago, the first time I'd seen her live. I expected her to have a condescending, "more liberal than thou" attitude. I was pleasantly surprised. Either she's learned to laugh at herself, or maybe she never was as stuffily politically correct as I thought her to be. The concert was a real pleasure, and she came across as a warm, funny, intelligent human being.
