Instead of spending billions on nuclear power, give the boffins a real opportunity to develop power from the only real 'green' alternative .... the sea or any other tidal flow.

It beggers belief that in the 21st century we have not yet been able to solve this one.

We could then use part of the energy produced to power the desalination plants that would alleviate the water crisis.
