Thread Name: Kate Rusby (duet with POP star Ronan Keating)
Subject: RE: Kate Rusby (duet with POP star Ronan Keating)
Lea--oooh, Kate and Alison, I'd pay good money to see/hear that too. Maybe a little Dan Tyminski for a nice tenor line. Mmmmmmm, yummy. They could do one of those ballads that's drifted over the pond and is sung by English and American trad folkies alike :)

I do have to disagree with you on the Sleepless duets, though. "All God's Angels" with Tim O'Brien...ooh la la!   I still get a little quivery when I listen to that one, even though it's one of hte most depressing songs ever. Ah, Kate. Such a mischievous spirit singing such sad songs--one of the most interesting personality contradictions I've come across. But I, too, really love the blending of her voice with Eddi Reader's. It's like Kat Eggleston singing with Niamh Parsons on her new album--really wonderful stuff.

P.S. Maybe they didn't create a romantic connection in the video because John McCusker was skulking around behind the camera with his wispy little mohawk and glowering at Ronan threateningly. "No wee blond Irish git is going to be snuggling up to my wife on camera!" (OK, yes, I'm sorry, the mohawk comment was uncalled for, but come on now, admit it...it just looks silly.)
