Pasting from Word 97 puts a lot of junk HTML into the message, much of which shouldn't be there. Your message 08-Feb-00 - 08:07 AM actually appears like this if you View Source on the Forum Page:

<P>If you use word 97 or above format everything as you want it in word, SAVE: as HTML, VIEW: html source, COPY: to clipboard then PASTE: into message box (here)<br> <P>
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<META NAME="Generator" CONTENT="Microsoft Word 97">
<TITLE>LIKE THIS</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>

<P><FONT SIZE=2>
<P></FONT>
<FONT SIZE=6>L</FONT>
<FONT SIZE=6 COLOR="#ff00ff">I</FONT>
<FONT SIZE=6>K</FONT>
<FONT SIZE=6 COLOR="#00ff00">E</FONT>
<FONT SIZE=6> THIS</P></FONT>
</BODY>
</HTML>

Then you do not have to learn any but the most basic HTML codes such as line breaks
<br>
<br>
and blue clickies regards Ted

You should only paste the bit between the <BODY> and </BODY> tags. Max's elves put the stuff in bold at the very start and end of the whole thread, as it relates to the whole document, rather than individual messages.

Even so, it's a pretty nifty tool, especially when you've got long messages and/or lots of tricky formatting.

Keep on experimenting - maybe one day you'll get to LVeMaiL, rather than HaTeMaiL

Wassail!
