Pasting from Word 97 puts a lot of junk HTML into the message, much of which shouldn't be there. Your message 08-Feb-00 - 08:07 AM actually appears like this if you View Source on the Forum Page:
<P>If you use word 97 or above format everything as you want it in word, SAVE: as HTML, VIEW: html source, COPY: to clipboard then PASTE: into message box (here)<br> <P>You should only paste the bit between the <BODY> and </BODY> tags. Max's elves put the stuff in bold at the very start and end of the whole thread, as it relates to the whole document, rather than individual messages.

Even so, it's a pretty nifty tool, especially when you've got long messages and/or lots of tricky formatting.
