Amos is definitely on the upper end of the bell curve. I believe the purpose of the "Popularity of the Bush Administration" thread was to promote an informed electorate. Now, some folks object to that sort of thing ("I wonder why that is," he said, naïvely), but Thomas Jefferson thought it was a good idea. In fact, he said that democracy can't survive without it.

Another quote worth considering: "Never in our history has an incumbent administration relied so heavily on the intellectual sluggishness of the electorate." --Bill Maher. He may not have the status of Jefferson, but it's a helluva quote nevertheless.

But in the meantime, back to the Mudcat think-tank:   

I think that people with multiple personalities should share them with people who don't have any.
