people with a mind set to suicide (too) often take their kids with them, I agree. But I seldom see the kid's role preplanned as in this case to make the suicide more effective in taking as many people with her as possible. She clearly sees that taking a baby with her on the mission will make it more probable that she can safely and unchallenged approach a prime target. This combination of planning and irrationality is what strikes me as rare.
