We don't need a cultural attache to the Duchy.. we have Kulture wiv a capitool K... Although there are very few 'Folk Clubs' as such, there are numerous sessions all over the Duchy on different nights and loads of impromptu sessions, so when anyone asks for a folk club it looks as if we don't have any. It isn't that we have a 'paucity of folk singing establishments', we just don't call them folk clubs. Down here we are used to travelling miles to get to anything [I drive 30 miles to work each day and 30 back] but we tend not to say 'how far away is'.. but 'how long does it take to get to'... We think nothing of driving over an hour to get to a session / club, as it is the rural nature of the county. It comes with living in the most stunning area of the UK.
