This song has been recorded by many people, many times. It was written by Al Dubin and Harry Warren and published in 1934. It's probably a movie song because it was published by Warner Brothers.It's interesting because since it was in the standard jazz repitiore of the 40's and 50's, it is the basis for a peculiar early be-bop jazz expression. To covet something is to "have eyes" for it as in: Man, I really have eyes for that short and dig those threads too.
