This working in the morning and evening with a rest in the afternoon works pretty well for the cows too... My dairy farmer uncle does it every day. His summer days start at 4.00am whether he wants it to or not.... In winter he gets a lie in until 5.00am. Oh, and cows don't take the weekend off.

I'm a morning person, in that I'm unbearably cheerful first thing, and can often be found (like now) performing some quiet task or hobby before even the cats are up and crepuscing. I've been watching the dawn creep over the roof ridges here... the pearly pink clouds of aurora have given way to the misty, mazy light of what promises to be another scorching hot, sticky, muggy day.

And on that note, I'm going back to bed!
