Here is France we have a thing called Le Fête de la Musique. This is traditionally ( for the last 25 year) the 21st of June. Lots of towns an villages have that day a free music day. This has now spread. So as not to have the Fête the same day as the next village these Fêtes are spread out over the whole month of June. I ahve seen this year La Fête de la Musique advertised from the 3rd of June to the 30th.
