Subject: RE: Mystic Seaport Sea Music Festival 2006
Roll & Go members are still having fun mulling over the Festival.

Thanks for the overview of after hour activities and the report from the Griswald Inn. Most members of our group held back on leading shanties at the Dance Hall. We did want to save our voices for concerts and workshops, and we didn't want to deprive anyone else of the opportunity of leading a song. I'd still like the option of a quieter sea music swap and I will lobby for it next year. I do hope there will be a next year and we do encourage others to make a donation, as we are, to Friends of the Festival (860-572-5365 or e-mail development@mysticseaport.org).

The performer contract this year still had the option for Mystic to make use of recordings to make a compilation CD but no recording was actually done by the sound crews to my knowledge. As performers, we'd much rather sell our own CD's for which we exercise quality control. It was also our sense that this year there were problems with sound quality at the Lighthouse Point evening concerts, especially evident Friday evening.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble
