Thread Name: Lyr Req: Fairy-Tale (from Roger Whittaker)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Caterpilla Boots
Interesting. Google finds it, even though you use the spelling "caterpilla" and the web site says "caterpillar." I didn't know Google would do a "sounds like" search. It does ask you "Did you mean: caterpillar" etc.

I'm mystified why so many people spell it "caterpilla." Are there people who actually pronounce it that way?

And I notice the song has the phrase "caterpillar skin boots" so maybe he's not referring to the Caterpillar brand-name after all. Is this clever word play, or a coincidence? (I had never heard of Caterpillar boots before doing this search.)

By the way, Allmusic.com says Roger Whittaker recorded FAIRYTALE but "Kay Hershy" wrote it. I suspect that's a mistake and it should be Hershy Kay, who is often credited as a conductor, arranger, adaptor, or orchestrator of film music and Broadway musicals.

So is this a song from one of those musicals? If so, I can't identify which one.
