In the UK, universities have historically been free, but now charge some fees. In the acaedemic year starting in September, fees are up to £3000, varying considerably with couses and university. Students from parts of the UK have their fees paid by the state, while others, and other EU students pay up to £3000. For those from outside the EU, fees of up to £30,000 apply.
