My condolences as well; times like this are tough on family - even when the death is a relief for the one concerned.
My folks just got back from an AmeriCal reunion - bitter sweet events for them now as there are less and less WWII vets there every time. Haven't heard their news from this trip, but last year they were the only intact couple remaining that made it (there had been four couples the previous year) - though there are some where the couple used to come and the surviving/healthier partner still attends.

Mom and Dad have been "adopted" by a group of VietNam vets though - which means they still have familiar faces
