According the latest research announced at the above conference, chimpanzees are not music fans.

Allowed to control the music being piped into their envirionment and given the choice between classical, world, rock and no music, chimps chose the latter. But when they had to choose a type of music, they preferred rock.

But perhaps that is because they could not choose folk music?
