I'm glad they got the drunken bum!
I went to this thread because I'd read Beatrix Potter's descriptions of Pace Eggers, and was intrigued. (In her local pace egging play King George and Lord Nelson fight and Nelson is killed.)

Back in 1975, I was involved with a series of concerts honoring my country's bicentennial. I wore an eighteenth century costume. The concerts were in a public park, so there was no place for me to change. I came and went in that costume. And I got hassled every time. Nobody ever tried to hit me. They just made dumb comments like, "That's old fashioned." Or "Hey redneck!" I never responded. I keep thinking God must love idiots. He certainly made enough of them.
