Well Jon, I do have some compassion and empathy for you. Apparently you don't like to see your fellow citizens ridiculed, and I can't blame you. We've all been there, though. Been the butt of jokes and slagging (that is what you Brits call it, isn't it?)

But what control have you over it? None. So why not lighten up just a bit, and stop the hand wringing? If this sort of thing bothers you so much, you probably should stop peeking in on the thread, and just ignore it.

It is pointless to come into active threads like this and say, in essence, "I think this sort of thing is mean spirited, and you should all stop it right now."
