Have I a reason now to care, when all
I hear from her is silence? Should I seek
To know of present dreams? Dare my words speak
About hope, or desire? Must my heart fall,
For having found this muse? I cannot call,
Yet need to know that she is well: I hold
To memory of smile. All I have told
Still remains true: Thought of her hopes install.
Dream does not fill need to her present know,
Nor what future might bring. She does not share
Worries, nor verse: How can I concerns show?
Heart aches, wanting to show that I still care,
But without chance or hope that hope might grow.
If only she for past had time to spare.
