A number of Woody Guthrie's fine pieces came out of his time subsidized by the WPA Writer's Project. I know there are more, but what comes to mind is (are) Roll On, Columbia Roll On, and the talking blues (whose name I disremember) that starts out, "Down along the river, a-sittin' on the rocks, lookin' at the boats in the Bonndeville locks. Open the gate, the boat sails in; toot yer whistle, she's gone agin! Gasoline a-goin' up; wheat a'comin' down!"Dave Oesterreich
