Thread Name: Lyr Req: Hunting song (Geordie Hanna)
Subject: Lyr Req: Hunting song (Geordie Hanna)
On his album The Fisher's Cot, Geordie Hanna sings an interesting fragment from a song he heard his father sing. This fragment is all that Geordie could remember, I transcribe it as I hear it on the CD:-

going up yon lawn ?????? and my spirits grew dull
When the briars and thorns were tearing my wool

Saying ray Tallyho
See over see ho
Bray hurrah cried the huntsman
and under she goes.

Does anybody know this song or one similar to it?
