In my opinion, the absolute best solution to FINDING stuff on your computer is Copernic Desktop Search. Having it won't take care of your problem with Sonic Stage, BUT it will find all your sound files, not to mention everything else you have on your computer.

We use it at work and couldn't imagine life without it. We tried both Google and Yahoo Desktop Searches, and found them inferior for our use.
