Somebody asked if holler is used in the city. Yes. All my life (Midwestern U.S.) I've heard statements such as:

She's always hollering at her kids.

You don't have to holler at me!

If you need some help, give me a holler.

In the last example, hollering is friendly. In the first two, it's not.
