I am dismayed but not surprised by this. The US has a long, long history of meddling in Mexico's affairs (hence the expression "Pobre Mexico, tan lejos de dios, y tan cerca a los estados unidos") - Poor Mexico, so far from God, and so close to the United States". That said there probably was plenty of meddling with these votes from purely Mexican sources too, as the Mexican political scene is notoriously corrupt. I was watching the election and thinking to myself that a leftist would never be allowed to win.
