An offshoot, perhaps...speaking of the geological formations, I am reminded of the next book I have picked up, "Ireland" by Frank Delaney, in which the old Storyteller starts out by describing the way the land became formed through migration of a HUGE ice flow, etc. Fascinating as is this thread.
