Well, my pet peeve about language is police (and reporters) who continue to refer to criminals as 'suspects' long after they have been caught and even have confessed.

Yes, I know it's usually a legal thing...just in case some clever lawyer wants to clutch at the thread of 'prejudicial publicity', but I STILL roll my eyes at 'suspect' when they are caught on video with the meat cleaver in their hand!
