Yes Bruce, from your other posts regarding this song, I can see that it gets you in a certain way... Now how does it shape up to textual anylysis. Let me see, there is the precise imagery of,
"There were plants and birds and rocks and things". Then there is the terse, resonant phrase, "fly with a buzz...". (Who would have thought it?) It moves on to the profound statement, "The heat was hot and the ground was dry..." That one really moved me, because I usually wear my wellies when I am in a desert...
Of course, it would be hard for any song to compete with the innate irony of "Angelo". The two ill starred lovers, who are, "Running away from danger," actually top themselves.
No doubt about it Bruce. What we have here are two pop masterpieces...
