In the tv news segment I saw covering the car show in California where the Tesla Roadster was presented to the public, they stated that they will have a family sedan in three years on the market for the average car buyer. The high cost roadsters are just the first model being sold. It was on the evening news, CBS network, I think, and NBC and ABC covered it, too.
