Unfortunately we are forced to be a 'secret society' because of Financial restraints . A Folk Club charging admission cannot pay a reasonable fee to a guest , put adverts in local Folk Mags , print handouts for other clubs and sometimes pay rent to use a room and THEN Pay anything up to a hundred pounds for Newspaper adverts . And getting anything printed free is virtually impossible , unless you have a club member who works for the local paper !!
