Thread Name: Lyr Req: Drink Up Thy Zider (Adge Cutler)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Cider Time
The lyrics of Drink Up Thy Zider quoted by Barbara are the official ones as sung by Adge Cutler himself (and still sung by the Wurzels at their gigs). The "Irish" version was also recorded by Foster & Allen and I believe it was a hit for them there.

The Yetties song mentioned by Peace is "Fill Up The Cider Cup" (issued on an album in 1972).

The Wurzels (with or without Adge) have recorded various cider-related songs over the years including Drink, Drink Yer Zider Up, I Am A Cider Drinker, I'd Love To Swim In The Z(u)ider Zee, and I'll Never Get A Scrumpy Here.

Not forgetting Trevor Crozier's Dead Dog Scrumpy (also recorded by the Yetties).

But to get back to the original question, there's a song called Apple Wine recorded by the late Brenda Wootton - I don't know if that's the one you're thinking of? I'm not sure, but from my increasingly unreliable memory I think the part of it went something like:

But meantime I think I'll just sit around here
Drinkin' good old apple wine
Good times, bad times, I couldn't care
Drinkin' good old apple wine
Ooh, ooh, high in the air
With good old apple wine
(etc.)

Which on reflection doesn't sound a lot like the song you were looking for!
