Ahh..my friend Clinton--I've been playing Classical guitar for 5 years--and let me tell you--nylon strings DO give you callouses--I can slice the tip of my finger with a razor blade and not draw blood. But then again, in Classical guitar, your fingers are moving so much that heavier "super callous makers" would hinder speed and comfort--not to mention your hand would fall off--especially after playing an 18-minute fugue by Bach. Everone to their own taste, I suppose--but we CG's like 'em.
