Also, I would like to continue my campaign to put an end to the use of the word "Yank". I am sure folks in the UK cringe whenever they are called "limeys".

It is my understanding that the word "Yank" became popular during the Civil War. The Confederates would use it to describe the Union, and it was not said with affection. It smacks of bigotry and hatred.   Maybe I am too sensitive, but it really irks me that people won't think twice about using it. I do realize it is said with affection, usually, but there are better words.

Okay, enough of my PC rant!
