FT. Audacity is a freeware sound recording and manipulation pogramme with a good reputation. It reckons to run from Win 98 onwards It also has versions for Mac and for Linux. It will record from an analogue source, but will also convert between different formats. It will also add effects (e.g. electric guitar pedal type effects) and do clever tricks such as altering the pitch without changing the overall tempo of a track. Another clever one allows you to remove the "middle" of a stereo recording (which is often the lead voice) so that you end up with a Karaoke type backing track of all the instruments which you can then sing along to without the original singer... It doesn't seem to actually burn a CD, but will get your music into files ready for burning. You might then be able to use a time limited trial of a commercial burning prog such as Nero to get your stuff onto disc. Quack! GtD.
