Peace I never did hear back from tgordon, but I finally was able to contact the person who I'd heard sing it and this is what he told me.(He said he wrote this song in 1953 and he never had it copyrighted and he was singing it in all the honky-tonks in Chicago and Billy Hall stole this song from him and made a big hit) Maybe one of you sleuths who have a lot more outlets than I have can prove if what he told me is true or not.
