Well, that's a semantic quibble.

The answer to the CHina Syndrome question is that you would come out with your head pointing up, even if you entered the hole with your head pointing down, because that's the nature of "up". It means (in this usage) "away from the center of mass causing the dominant gravitic field". Down means toward the center of mass.

A
