US-bashing is all well and good. Much of what many of us detest may come from that administration, and so it is fair to rail against it.

I worry however that by engaging in the America-bashing sport, we may conveniently abdicate our own (and our countries') responsibilities.

After all, it is only a short step from seeing the US as the Evil Empire Who Must Mend Its Ways, to seeing them as The Big Daddy Without Whom No Solution Is Possible. A sort of submissiveness through the back door.
