Thread Name: Origins: The Legend of Jolie Blonde
Subject: Origins: The Legend of Jolie Blonde
Doing some research into the history of this
classic Cajun waltz for a page on our site @

http://snipurl.com/jolie_blonde

I found the following, on the renowned
Cajun artist George Rodrigue's website:

> "A prisoner in Port Arthur wrote a song based
> on the legend "Jolie Blonde" in the 1920s.
> It tells the story of a pretty blonde woman
> who left her Cajun lover for someone else."

Does anyone here know any more about
this Cajun legend - or have any additional
information about the song's authorship/
background that I can add to the above page.

best to all
