Hello, New Zealanders! I'm curious about some New Zealand things. No disrepect whatever is intended by these questions.


1. What does zealand mean? When I was younger, I thought it meant "seal land". But now that I'm older, I think there's no seals in Zealand except in the zoo. Is that right? So what is a "zeal"?

2. {your response to #1 may have answered this} Is there an old Zealand, and if so where is it?

3. What is the proper referent for folks who are from or who live in New Zealand? {assuming that "New Zealander" is wrong}
