I have played a few places after the act before me has played the popular Irish drinking songs and then I walk out and sing "Grace" or other historical based songs to a bewildered audience! Some crowds don't have much experience with the broad spectrum of Irish music.

I pity the poor bastard who'd try to sing a love song in Irish language, to a large drunk South Boston pub crowd. I've been there. I didn't go back!
