Sorcha & Jim: Thank you for your researches. It is possible that the program mentioned is the one on which I heard it, tho we did not regulary listen to The Bing Crosby show. It is of course possible that Fred Allen also sang it on his own show. It was also in oral circulation; I heard it sung by some teenagers in Utah, but I cannot easily put a date to that.
