They sound like nearly all the Christian leaders of the past, so maybe it's your idea of what Christianity "really" is that's wrong. Crusades, oppression, persecutions, slavery, apartheid, social injustice, in all of these Christians have proved no better than others. Since 2000 years is a long time for God's plan to work through (longer than the OT plan), one must assume that God WANTS it this way.
