Who needs an excuse? "No" works okay, and if anyone needs or wants more info than that a simple "Sorry, not interested" is more than enough.   

Unless you're married, of course. In which case if the "not interested" lasts longer than 20 years (and the "still interested" is still interested) counselling is probably a good idea.
