You don't like your humour to be derogatory but you are more than happy to suggest that someone else's humour is equivalent to yours in 'grade 8 or 9'. I must admit I have no idea what grade 8 or 9 is but am I correct in guessing that your reference is to a juvenille age?

If so then you do not want to make derogatory jokes at non-specific persons but are quite happy to make derogatory remarks about the humour of a specific person.

I am not sure which is more insulting but lets try this experiment.
