I had the pleasure of listening in on a street performance of a not-young hammered dulcimer player (accompanied by whistle/flute) at the Kilkenny Fleadh in '83. The HD player made a striking sight. He was attired in go-ta-meetin' clothing - hat, vest, tie (and perhaps a sprig in the lapel). Each article of the man's clothing was different shade of muted green.

Many thanks to Malcolm for posting the link to the informative and interesting Dulcimer Thesis. Though I cannot say with certainty, I now believe that I may have gotten to hear Johnny Rea on that sunny day.
